My mission is to provide a supportive, inclusive, joyful and inspiring art studio where young artists can thrive, learn, exhibit and publish their work.

Drawing Classes are tailored to meet the needs of all students, from the beginner to the advanced. I teach an exciting range of methods and specific skill-building techniques, from traditional realism to personal, abstract expression. Media include pencil, pen, charcoal, colored pencil, ink, and pastel.

Painting Classes offer a broad range of instruction, from traditional still life, landscape and portraiture, to abstraction and non-representation. I also lead wonderful workshops in plein air painting, as we capture the natural beauty of our mountains, desert, river and sky. You can choose to take classes in acrylic, watercolor, oil, or even learn the exquisite art of silk painting!
Writing instruction is available for both individual and small group tutoring. I teach students to write masterful analytical and personal essays, focusing on organization of ideas, precise word choice and expressive voice. I specialize in teaching students to write riveting, effective college essays that showcase their strengths with clarity and depth.

Literature
Literature provides insight into the human condition, offering readers new worlds to experience, but often students wrestle with meaning as well as with formal and stylistic elements. A lifelong reader myself, I teach students how to engage with the material as well as how to hone their analytical skills. With patience and care, we will unlock the mysteries of literature.

Elementary and MS aged students will enjoy an exciting new project each week. We'll draw with pastels, paint with acrylics and make multimedia artwork as well! Kids will build foundational skills in a fun-filled atmosphere, sure to inspire and delight.
HS Art Classes

Students will work on a variety of projects from landscape, portrait, abstraction and mixed media. Learn the art of the Miniature, or paint on a larger scale. All skill levels are welcomed!
Silk Painting Classes
Call to form workshop
Learn to paint on the Mercedes of fabrics! Students will design
original compositions, experiment with gold, silver, white or black gutta, and paint with jewel-colored dyes. Choose to paint a 12 x 12 square, a 22" x 90" banner or a 34" x 34" piece.
Adult Classes and Weekend Workshops
Silk Painting Classes and Workshops are scheduled, and can also be organized upon request to accommodate a small class with a minimum of 3 students, max 6.
Barn Quilt Painting Workshops are scheduled, and can also be organized upon request to accommodate a small class, minimum of 3, max of 6.
Mixed Media Expressive Painting Classes/Workshops are scheduled, and can also be organized upon request to accommodate a small class, min of 3, max 6 students.
